The borderline of the ligth blue color with the deeper hues of blue shows the present depth of the oceans at -120 m. During the Last Glacial Maximum (LGM) however this line was the estimated coastline. Present sea levels run along the transition to the darkest green. The lighter shades of green show the regions were sea level stood during the Pliocene and Eocene. Click at the figure or in the lefthand corner of the page to enlarge the figure.
